Here are Mrs. Few's answers to some questions posed by the Institute.

With so few women in elected office here in SC what do you foresee to be your greatest challenge once elected to public office?

With so few women in elected office in the SC, I foresee my greatest challenge, once elected, as not allowing House members to discount my input based on my gender.

Has there been a woman who you've admired in the political world and what is it about her that gives you courage to run the race?

I have great admiration for Representative Nikki Haley. She did not cave in to pressure and threats from the "good ole boys" in the State House, but instead did what was right in the battle to assure citizens know how their representatives vote. She sacrificed leadership roles she earned in the House to defend the taxpayer. That took great courage and integrity.

Has political office been a life long goal/dream of yours?

I have known since 1998 that God has been preparing me my entire life to be an elected official so that I can defend our American values and bring glory to Him.

Tell us something your friends would be surprised to learn about you?

My friends might be surprised to learn that I enjoy putting on my Harley Davidson t-shirt and riding with my husband on the weekends. I feel like I have an alter ego on these days. It is fun to be among other bikers and common sense thinkers. It is a great break from my political life.

Your mother always said...

My mother always said, "Waste not - want not".  I often think of this saying that originated from my grandmother and was passed along to me by my mother. It could never be more properly applied than to our current economic situation. There is so much waste of taxpayer dollars and the citizens of South Carolina are fed up with it. When times were good, just a few years ago, money was wasted instead of being stored up for times like we are currently enduring. During this economic downturn the government will be forced to cut waste.
