Linda Ketner

Linda Ketner is President of KSI Corporation, a firm specializing in leadership and management development.  Begun in 1980, KSI's client list includes:  General Foods, Rotary International, Omni Magazine, U.S. Department of Education, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, National Society for Fundraising Executives and over 300 other corporate, non - profit, education and government organizations.  KSI offers a wide range of products and services including: leadership and management development seminars, program design and evaluation, employee surveys, video-training production, strategic planning, board development and executive assessment.  

Prior to co-founding KSI, Ketner was Director of Organization Development for Food Lion Stores, responsible for New Product Design with the Center for Creative Leadership; and, Manager of Organization Development for Smith Kline Corporation.  She has been adjunct professor at UNC-G and the College of Charleston, teaching Complex Organizations and Leadership.  Most recently, she was the Democratic Candidate for United States Congress, District 1, losing by 4% to a 4-term incumbent in a +10 Republican District.

Active in her community, she has served as President of The Community Foundation, President of Charleston Crisis Ministry, Chair of the Mayor's Council On Homelessness and Affordable Housing, Chair of the S.C. Housing Trust Fund, Co-founder of South Carolina Citizens For Housing, Co-founder of Women Making A Difference, and served on the boards of the Hollings Cancer Center, Health Sciences Foundation, and the YWCA of the USA.  She is co-founder and past President of Alliance for Full Acceptance and S.C. Equality Coalition and on the boards of the Riley Institute for Public Policy, College of Charleston Women Studies, and The Connection Independent Television.  Having established the Women’s Fund, Ketner Fund and Fund for Social Justice, she oversees grants to community organizations working for solutions to social problems. Ms. Ketner ran for US Congress, 2nd District, in 2008.

Ms. Ketner is an enthusiastic Renaissance Weekend Participant, Leadership America graduate and has been honored with the national Salute to Citizenship Award, South Carolina Woman of Valor Award, Girl Scout Woman of Distinction Award, and the South Carolina Housing Achievement Award.  Also:  The Malcolm D. Haven Award for Community Service, SCHA Woman of the Year, YWCA Lifetime Achievement, Center for Women Foundation Award, SCGLPM Volunteer of the Year and SCGLBG Trailblazer Awards.  She is the recipient of an honorary doctorate from Columbia College, as well as the NAACP, J. Arthur Brown Award for Outstanding Service and Friends Awards; and, the Urban League Arthur J. Clement Award For Race Relations.
